Nanopayments
Nanopayments are huge business- China's Tencent raised $523million in revenue – that's four times as much as Facebook, in a country where the average monthly wage is less than $20 – with operating profits of $224million. Nanopayments are popular across the social media grid, asking users to pay tiny sums ($.10 to $.99 for an intangible item) in return for what results as social currency.

A Moonwalk to Remember: Great Michael Jackson Tribute

This is a great site that pays tribute to the gloved one himself. The concept is simple- people submit videos of themselves doing the moonwalk and these videos are then spliced together to make The Eternal Moonwalk.
Submit your video and remember Michael for what he truly gave us- the ability to walk backwards while looks as though we're walking forward.
mpME: The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition
While I'm not a fan of the video (as I had an entirely different take given the emotionality of the track), this song plain rocks. It's featured in a trailer for the upcoming movie "500 Days of Summer" and I hope that exposure helps launch these Aussies into the limelight as I'd like to hear more from them.

TwittARound: Augmented Reality Meets Twitter Meets Loopt Meets Oops Just Pooped Maself
Love Twitter and want to meet other local Twitterers in real time? Hate Twitter and want to hunt down some obnoxious twats in your area?
Well look no further- your answer is here! Twittaround is an iPhone App (that sadly will never make it to the iPhone Store) that combines Augmented Reality with Twitter and just a sprinkle of Loopt's GPS function to show realtime tweets and where they're coming from in comparison to your location. The video poster describes it as such:
This is a video of the first beta version of TwittARound - an augmented reality Twitter viewer on the iPhone. It shows live tweets around your location on the horizon. Because of video see-through effect you see where the tweet comes from and how far it is away.

United Breaks Guitars: Consumer Complaints Goes Country
A well orchestrated complaint video from a band member whose guitar was broken by United Airlines.
Companies need to be wary that there are ramifications beyond angry individuals when their costumer service and plain old regular service suck. United needs to take a cue from @comcastcares and better help these people before they make a catchy music video and post it all over the internet, getting hundreds of thousands of views and bathing the viewers with malice for your brand.
QUESTION: Complaint videos are popular, so do you think follow up videos from the companies would also be popular? I don't mean cheesy Corporate apologies- I mean humorous videos that answer the problem in the same way it was addressed? I feel like Virgin would be great at this and I'd love to see them either react to or preempt problems by releasing viral videos. What do you think?

Doritos Late Night Presents: Blink-182 & Big Boi via Augmented Reality
But today, Doritos unveiled it's final product- an interactive concert brought to you by Augmented Reality.
What's Augmented Reality, you ask? Well if you're familiar with some previous posts, its a technology I'm quite enthralled with and is taking the tech scene by storm. Essentially it's a technology that allows a camera to activate a 3D image when it senses a certain icon or shape. Still not clear? Check this example:
Now Doritos is giving it a go, only this time their involving some big names to get the masses moving. And as the "concert" itself is unconventional, so is the ticket- you have to find a special-edition bag of the Late Night Chips to see the show. Sadly I haven't even seen what all the fuss is about since I'm bagless, but soon enough, I'm sure I'll either find me a bag or see a YouTube video of it.
Head to doritoslatenight.com if you have the bag, or check out this video posted to Wired for more about the making of:
