This got me thinking- sure, this is a nice tool for marketers who want to send canned messages and specific time intervals, but wouldn't it also be cool to use for narrative purposes? Example: let's say HBO had wanted to promote the early internet release of the Flight of the Conchords first episode solely via Twitter. Create two twitter channels for Bret and Jermaine, write funny quips between the two set to send at specific times. Then down the line, once some people caught onto this narrative, you could send a tweet with a url to the sneak peek episode. Sure, this isn't the greatest example and you could just as easily write the posts in real time. But hopefully you get the point- someone could write an entire novel, if it was entirely dialogue, upload each tweet, set times for delivery then sit back and watch as, week after week, the followers grew without any maitenance required. Kinda cool, kinda whatever.
